I was going to do it; but I just can't it seems. That is, I had to go and add a political section. Well, I am from the DC area, so I guess it's natural. Visit my blog on politics for more.

Essentially, I am a conservative, so I vote Republican. Not that I support much of what the current bunch of so-called Republicans are doing in Washington. The "bailout" is thinly disguised socialism, in my view. Business is a tough place; if you can't cut it, and the Big Three have not, then you go out of business. I see it as inadequate management, and in relation to that, a fear of the so-called management of the Big Three to stand up to Big Labor.
Let's face it, one of the problems facing the American automobile industry is the unions. I read somewhere a week or so ago that it costs (on average) $95.00 an hour for the Big Three to produce an car. In comparison, the Japanese can do it for $22.00 an hour. Guess which car manufacturer would thus be more likely to be profitable? I believe that the difference is that big management in the Big Three failed to adequately represent their constituency (stock holders) in negotiations with the largest business in the country, labor. And let's be honest, the labor unions have not been run or controlled by laborers for sometime. The ones who run the unions are lawyers and MBAs. Does anyone really think that Big Labor Managment has the interest of the union members at heart? I don't. They are lawyers; they care about their fees, not their members.
Well, that is my opinion anyway.
